Ta Tung aluminium is the first aluminium door and window company in Taiwan to win the German iF Design Award

The German iF Product Design Award, established in 1954 and organized by the German International Forum Design Company, is one of the world's oldest design awards and also referred to as the "Oscar of Industrial Design." In 2011, Ta Tung aluminium's "all-in-one handle" brought the art of aesthetics to aluminium doors and windows. Standing out from over 8,000 entries from 52 countries, it became the first Taiwanese aluminium door and window company to win the German iF Design Award, gaining international recognition. The greatest significance of this award is that it symbolizes that Ta Tung product design capabilities have reached international standards.   Ta Tung aluminium's entry, the "all-in-one handle" is a complete aluminium door and window design that considers three elements: aluminium doors and windows, lighting, and sound insulation. Its unique feature is that, in addition to its traditional opening and closing function, it also controls the raising and lowering of the blackout curtains.

The design to realize this idea involves thickening the window panes, dividing the inner glass into two pieces with a thickness of approximately 4 centimeters between them. This increased thickness significantly reduces noise and heat transmitted into the room, thus maintaining a stable and comfortable indoor temperature. A user-friendly Japanese-style blackout curtain is cleverly installed between the two glass panes. The vertical automatic locking track in the handle allows for intuitive and easy raising and lowering of the blackout curtain to adjust the light. The embedded blackout curtain also effectively addresses the problem of dirt and dust mites accumulating on traditional curtains exposed to the air.

The heart of the entire window's operation is "all-in-one handle." Unlike traditional styles, Ta Tung has designed it as a wide, elongated strip. The handle is made of stylish stainless steel with added rubber material inside, greatly improving the tactile feel and comfort. The automatic locking track, crucial for controlling the curtain, is hidden in the "all-in-one handle," allowing the entire aluminium window and door to maintain a simple outline and modern design. In addition, the included window lock design provides a high level of security, effectively preventing children's fingers from getting caught in the window and ensuring home safety for children.
